Expos & Festivals

ExposFestsTo promote its wines & brandies,
the early California wine trade exhibited in grand fashion at many of the country's major expositions, and many smaller fairs and festivals.

California wine producers and merchants created impressive exhibits for the major U.S. fairs, including the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition, the 1894 San Francisco Mid-Winter Fair, the 1904 St. Louis Louisiana Purchase Exposition, and the 1915 San Francisco Panama Pacific International Exposition.

Even the little town of St. Helena in
Napa Valley celebrated the harvest with its annual Vintage Festival.
